Swanky Socks - Public Statement
Swanky Socks® wishes to provide an update regarding the ongoing legal proceedings commenced by Swanky Socks Pty Ltd in the Federal Court of Australia, Proceeding No. NSD1597/2025.
As previously communicated on 5 November 2025, Swanky Socks Pty Ltd commenced proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Mr Thomas Lawrence (aka Tom L.) and TJ Lawrence Pty Ltd raising serious allegations of dishonesty and the misappropriation of company funds against both Mr Thomas Lawrence (Tom Lawrence) and TJ Lawrence Pty Ltd. Freezing Orders over certain assets owned by Mr Thomas Lawrence were made by the Court in September 2025, and presently continue while the proceedings run their course.
Mr Thomas Lawrence and TJ Lawrence Pty Ltd were afforded a period of almost 3 months to file a defence to and oppose the serious allegations of dishonesty and the misappropriation of company funds but chose not to and instead chose to submit to whatever findings and orders that the Court ultimately chooses to make.
The claims brought by Swanky Socks Pty Ltd in respect of the alleged misappropriation of company funds totals $567,876.39 and relates to conduct that took place over a period of nearly 8 years.
The proceedings continue against additional parties who were joined to the proceedings by Orders of the Federal Court on 27 November 2025 (Justice Cheeseman). These parties are:
- Solos Group Pty Ltd (ACN 691 910 657) (/ Solos Socks)
- Ms Tracy Ann Walch
- Mr Oliver John Faulkner
- Ms Maxine Danielle Ruder
These orders were made by the Court at the request of Swanky Socks Pty Ltd to ensure that all relevant issues can be properly determined in the proceedings.
The proceedings continue in the Federal Court of Australia for the determination of the relief sought by Swanky Socks Pty Ltd.Swanky Socks Pty Ltd continues to take all appropriate legal measures to protect its intellectual property, assets, confidential information, and commercial relationships in accordance with the Court’s process and judicial oversight.
We reaffirm that Mr Thomas Lawrence was terminated as an employee of Swanky Socks on 31 July 2025, and has had, and continues to have, no authority to represent Swanky Socks Pty Ltd in any capacity since that time. Any ventures, brands, or initiatives promoted by Mr Thomas Lawrence since that date are entirely independent of Swanky Socks Pty Ltd and are not endorsed by, supported by, or affiliated with Swanky Socks Pty Ltd in any way.
For the avoidance of doubt, there is no association or affiliation between Swanky Socks Pty Ltd and Solos Socks or Solos Group Pty Ltd.
